Inspect every browser-visible mouse event.
Use one capture surface to test movement, standard and side buttons, double-clicks, and wheel direction.
Mouse event bench
Last wheel direction: No movement · Total clicks: 0 · Wheel events: 0
Ready for a pointer test
Move the pointer inside the surface, click each available button, double-click, and scroll in both directions.
This test requires a mouse or trackpad; touch gestures are not physical mouse-button tests. The movement event rate is browser-observed and not the device's calibrated USB polling rate. Display refresh, power saving, and event coalescing affect it.
Use event patterns to find the failing layer.
The browser reports usable events, not raw USB packets. Compare button, wheel, and motion behavior separately.
Slow the click cadence and compare the operating-system double-click setting.
Check whether vendor software remapped it to a shortcut or gesture.
Clean the sensor, change surface, recharge, and close animation-heavy tabs.
